There are 3 basic schools of Feng Shui: Form School, Compass School and Black Hat Feng Shui. Form school is the original and most accurate.

Feng Shui is developed thousands of years ago in little villages of orient. It was called Folk Feng Shui because each village had their own rules. They studied the formations of the land and ways of the wind & water to survive their livelihood. Later Feng Shui products developed and was used by emperors to ensure their success. The original Feng Shui Masters, who had the power to control the wind and water, were hired by emperors to wage war. The Black Hat Feng Shui uses Ba-Gua, the eight sided symbol that represents the eight stations of life, which is based upon the location of the entrance to your structure. The Compass consists of a magnetic needle that point towards magnetic north not true north.
